The Authi car company of Pamplona, Spain was founded in 1965 as a result of a collaboration between BMC and NMQ. BMC needed a way to sell their cars in Spain, which at the time had strict rules about local manufacturing of automobiles. Thus, Authi built almost identical copies of a range of Austin and Morris cars. The company survived until 1976 when the factory was sold to the SEAT car company.

Er war mit Ledersitzen, Walnuss-Armaturenbrett und mit mehr Extras ausgerüstet als das englische Pendant. 1969 wurde die Produktion in Pamplona eröffnet. Im April 1969 kam der Mini 1000 in zwei Versionen auf den Markt. Er war in einer Standard- und einer Sonderversion erhältlich. Diese Mini-1000-Serie erreichte die höchsten Verkaufzahlen in der Unternehmensgeschichte von Authi. Die Montage erfolgte ausschließlich im Mini-Werk in Pamplona. Fahrgestelle und Karosserie wurde aus England zugeliefert. Los Corrales de Buelna (Kantabrien), produziert Motoren, Getriebe und Achsen. Weitere Fabriken aus der Gruppe, Crilastic, Ketalauto und Tecniauto aus Barcelona, produzierten unter anderem Fahrwerksteile, Stoßdämpfer, Elektrik, Verglasung, Zierleisten, SU-Vergaser, Benzinpumpen und Kleinteile. 1976 wurde die Fertigung eingestellt und an SEAT verkauft.
