Augustin Barié, was a French composer and organist. Barié was born blind; however, he had large hands which spanned an eleventh, allowing him to play the difficult organ works of composers such as Cesar Franck with relative ease. He studied at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles under Adolphe Marty and Louis Vierne, then went on to study with Alexandre Guilmant at the Paris Conservatory. In 1906, he was awarded the Conservatory's premier prix.

Barié was a celebrated improviser, one of a long line of French Romantic virtuoso organists, and he wrote mostly for organ, including a Symphony (Op. 5) and Trois Pieces (Op. 7). His career was cut short when he died of a brain hemorrhage at 31, not long after getting married.

Ses principales œuvres sont : Élégie en la mineur pour orgue ou harmonium, publiée dans le vol. 1 de l’anthologie Les Maîtres Contemporains de l’Orgue de l’abbé Joseph Joubert, parue à Paris en 1912. Symphonie pour orgue en si bémol mineur opus 5, composée en 1907 et publiée en 1911, dédiée à Louis Vierne. Elle fut créée à Paris par André Marchal en 1922. Trois Pièces pour orgue (Marche, Lamento, Toccata) opus 7, publiées en 1911 et dédiées respectivement à son ami Marcel Dupré, à son maître Alexandre Guilmant, et à son ami Joseph Bonnet.
