Montague Francis Ashley-Montagu (born Israel Ehrenberg on June 28, 1905, London, England - died November 26, 1999, Princeton, New Jersey, United States) was a British-American anthropologist and humanist, of Jewish ancestry, who popularized topics such as race and gender and their relation to politics and development. He was the rapporteur (appointed investigator), in 1950, for the UNESCO statement The Race Question. As a young man he changed his name to "Montague Francis Ashley-Montagu".

Bekannt wurde er unter anderem für seine Veröffentlichungen über die menschliche Evolution, Rasse, Geschlecht und die Entwicklungspsychologie. 1950 wurde er Berichterstatter des UNESCO Statement on Race. Nach einer Kindheit im Londoner East End begann er mit 17 ein Studium der Psychologie und Anthropologie am University College London und an der London School of Economics, u. a. bei Karl Pearson, Charles Spearman, Grafton Elliot Smith, Charles Gabriel Seligman und Bronislaw Malinowski. Nach dem Examen wechselte er zur Columbia Universität in New York, wo er 1936 bei Franz Boas und Ruth Benedict über die Vorstellungen der Fortpflanzung bei den australischen Aborigines promovierte. Von 1941 bis 1945 leitete er die anthropologische Fakultät der Rutgers Universität. Er lebte seit 1949 in Princeton.
