Arnold Nogy was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Nogy is an artist whose artistic contributions have included several coins for the Royal Canadian Mint. He is a member of the Worldwide Nature Artists Group since 2003 and the Society of Animal Artists since 1992. Nogy was artistically educated on Georgian Bay. Nogy spent summers at his family's cottage north of Honey Harbour.

This opportunity afforded Nogy opportunities for outside exploration, sketching and painting as he studied the tiny details of leaves, insects, birds and flowers. He exhibits in galleries in Canada and the United States including the very prestigious Society of Animal Artists and the Algonquin Museum in Algonquin Park, Canada. Nogy works in watercolour, pastel, graphite, charcoal, conte and oil mediums. The Royal Canadian Mint has commissioned Nogy for eight coin designs to date (four in 1997, one in 2006, two in 2007, and one in 2008), and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and has made contributions to several art books.
