- Aquarius Records is a Canadian independent record label which was established during the summer of 1969. The headquarters is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In the summer of 1969, Terry Flood, Donald Tarlton, Bob Lemm, Jack Lazare and Daniel Lazare began the independent label, signing legendary rockers April Wine in the early 70s and then Montreal heartthrob Corey Hart in the 80s. In the 1990s, the label expanded its roster with the addition of Sass Jordan and the creation of a Francophone sister label, Tacca Musique, to increase its comprehensiveness in the Canadian music scene. By the end of the twentieth century, Aquarius signed up-and-comers Serial Joe, local favourites Rubberman and Sum 41 (Canada only), one of the country's biggest and most successful pop punk bands to date. In 2006, Aquarius Records signed Danko Jones to its family and began new partnerships with Arts & Crafts to form Arts & Crafts International and Mensa to release country crooner Adam Gregory. More recent signings include Lindsay Robins, The Operation M.D. , Brown Brigade and Jeremy Fisher. Aquarius/DMK have a distribution arrangement with EMI Music Canada.

L'etichetta è stata fondata nell'estate del 1969 da Terry Flood, Donald Tarlton, Bob Lemm, Jack Lazare e Daniel Lazare; la prima band ad essere ingaggiata furono gli April Wine. È comunque all'inizio degli anni novanta che la casa discografica espande le band sotto contratto, aggiungendo Sass Jordan e grazie alla creazione dell'etichetta gemella francofona Tacca Musique, che gli permette l'espansione in tutto il territorio canadese. Il massimo successo avvenne alla fine del centesimo secolo, grazie all'ingaggio di band emergenti come Serial Joe, Rubberman e, soprattutto, i già molto noti a livello locale Sum 41, che oggi sono uno dei gruppi canadesi più conosciuti oltre ad essere anche uno delle band pop punk più famose nel mondo.
