Apollo (1879–1887) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He won 24 races in his career, including the 1882 Kentucky Derby. Apollo is the only horse to win the Kentucky Derby without having raced as a 2-year-old. Apollo was injured as a five-year-old and was retired from racing. He was given to a friend of Morris' wife that lived in Charleston for use as a saddle horse.
