She is most known for her work as journalist/author Nancy Pollock Karr on the soap opera The Edge of Night, a role she played from 1962 to 1984. She is also known for her Broadway roles and for various commercials, including those for Good Seasons salad dressing and for a purse. Shorter roles, mainly as society matrons, on Search for Tomorrow, Another World, and One Life to Live followed.
