The Anglo-Iraqi War was a conflict between the United Kingdom and the rebel government of Rashid Ali in Iraq during the Second World War. The conflict lasted from 2 May to 31 May 1941. The conflict is also referred to as the Rashid Ali Rebellion. The campaign resulted in the re-occupation of the Kingdom of Iraq by British armed forces and the return to power of the ousted pro-British Regent of Iraq, Prince Amir Abdul Illah.
