Le groupe est plus connu pour son chanteur tête de turc des Gallagher que pour ses réussites commerciales, deux albums néo-seventies faisant un flop malgré les efforts d'Andy qui écrit, produit, chante et joue de la guitare. Andy part alors vivre avec sa femme Idha, excellente chanteuse et dont il a une fille Leia (qui s'appellerait ainsi d'après l'héroïne de Star Wars). Andy rejoint Oasis en 1999 après le départ de Guigsy. Ses lignes de basse propulsent la section rythmique du groupe dans une autre dimension mais son apport n'est pas seulement technique puisque cinq de ses titres sont déjà parus : A Quick Peep (court instrumental de transition sur Heathen Chemistry) Thank You For The Good Times en face B de Stop Crying Your Heart Out, mais surtout Keep The Dream Alive et Turn Up The Sun (qui ouvre l'album et a bien failli lui donner son titre) sur Don't Believe The Truth, et enfin The Nature Of Reality sur Dig Out Your Soul (2008).
