Andrey Andreyevich Andreyev (born 30 October 1895 in Kusnezovo / Sytschewov, Gouvernement Smolensk; died 1971) was a Soviet politician. He was the son of a peasant who became a munitions worker. During World War I he joined the Bolsheviks. He was a member of the Politburo from 1932 until 1952. Andreyev was a Chairman of the Soviet of the Union from 1938 until 1946 and later headed the parties Control Commission (until 1952). Dismissed from Politburo in 1952, he remained a vice-premier of the Soviet government but ultimately lost his positions in 1953 after the Central Committee Plenary Meeting (held immediately after Beria's fall) where he blamed Beria in criticizing Stalin (in other words, declared his disapproval of the party policy towards "destalinization").
