" According to the Journal Citation Reports for 2007, the journal ranks 1st out of 37 journals in History and Philosophy of Science (Science), 1st out of 7 journals in Medical Ethics (science), and 1st out of 28 journals in Ethics (social science), 1st out of 32 in Social Issues (social science), and 1st out of 28 in Social Sciences, Biomedical (social science) with an Impact Factor of 3.934. Submissions to the American Journal of Bioethics are screened by the editors and blind peer reviewed by at least two referees before being accepted for publication.
