- Amanda Wyss is an American actress. Wyss was born in Manhattan Beach, California. Discovered by an agent as a teen while starring in the play The Bad Seed at a local Los Angeles theatre, she went on to work in commercials and landed her first television role, recurring on Universal's When the Whistle Blows (1980) as Dolph Sweet's daughter. Some of her most memorable film performances were in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), in A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) as Tina Gray (who was the first person murdered onscreen by Freddy Krueger), in the 1985 comedy film Better Off Dead as Beth, Silverado (1985) and the award-winning, Powwow Highway (1989). Wyss starred in Season 1 of the fantasy television series ' as a reporter named Randi McFarland. She has made guest appearances on television shows, including Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Cheers, The Drew Carey Show, Dexter, and Cold Case. She has also had recurring roles on St. Elsewhere (1982) and Cagney & Lacey (1982). Wyss currently enjoys living in Los Angeles and working as an actress in film and television.
