His 1910-1911 season was especially remarkable, when scoring 38 goals in 20 matches, half of the goals Cercle Brugge scored that season. In 1910 Six received his first cap for Belgium, winning 3-2 against the Netherlands and scoring once. Six played nine times for Belgium, scoring eight goals.

Six still holds two Cercle Brugge team records: An average of 1.045 goals per match. Five goals in one match, against R.E. Sport's Club In 1912, Six left Cercle for Union SG. Due to Union SG not keeping their promises about a job for him - professional footballers were unheard of at that time - he moved to Olympique Lillois, a predecessor of Lille OSC. That season he became the first Belgian football player to become a champion in a foreign country.

Au cours de cette manœuvre, les troupes belges ont été encerclées par les Allemands près de Boutersem. Six et ses compagnons ont été tués le 19 août, deux semaines seulement après le début des hostilités.

In februari 1912 zette hij een clubrecord neer dat ook in de 21e eeuw nog zou standhouden: hij scoorde 5 maal in één wedstrijd, meer bepaald bij een 0-6 overwinning bij Excelsior SC de Bruxelles. In het seizoen 1912/1913 kreeg hij een aanbieding van de succesvolle club Union Saint-Gilloise. De club beloofde hem niet enkel een plaats in de ploeg, maar ook een job. Toen deze laatste belofte werd ingetrokken, weigerde Six naar Union te trekken. Six werd uiteindelijk zelfs geschorst door de Belgische Voetbalbond. Hij zocht zijn heil toen in Rijsel, waar hij tekende voor Olympique Lillois voor het seizoen 1913/14. Hij won dat seizoen de Franse kampioenstitel, waarmee hij de eerste Belgische speler werd die een buitenlandse kampioenstitel pakte. De Europese competities werden onderbroken door de Eerste Wereldoorlog en Alphonse, die lansier was, moest terug onder de wapens in augustus 1914. Hij sneuvelde reeds na 4 dagen te Boutersem.
