- Allen Reynolds is a record producer and songwriter. Reynolds was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas and started writing songs during his college years. He and a friend, Dickey Lee, continued writing after college and soon moved into production and publishing with their own company. Reynolds is perhaps best known for producing virtually every album by Garth Brooks, all of which have sold in the millions of copies world-wide. The only exception is the 1999 album Garth Brooks in... the Life of Chris Gaines, which was produced by Grammy award-winning producer Don Was. Reynolds has also produced albums for Kathy Mattea, Hal Ketchum, Don Williams, Crystal Gayle, Emmylou Harris and the O'Kanes. In addition to his duties as producer, he has also written several hit country singles as well. His writing credits include Gayle's "Wrong Road Again," "Somebody Loves You" and "Ready For the Times to Get Better," Waylon Jennings' "Dreaming My Dreams With You" and Williams' "I Recall a Gypsy Woman" and "We Should Be Together. " Reynolds has also written the classic pop hit "Five O'Clock World" for the singing group, The Vogues. Hal Ketchum later covered this song in the early 1990s, with Reynolds as producer, and became a Top 20 country hit for him.
