Da die BBC für „Our World“ einen Song haben wollte, der weltweit verstanden wird, sind Text und harmonische Struktur von All You Need Is Love bewusst einfach gehalten. Auch der Rhythmus ist schlicht und besteht weitgehend aus einem durchlaufenden Viertelnoten-Metrum.
