Eddie cantaba en Gunmetal Grey, un grupo de la Bay area de San Francisco parecido a In Flames o Killswitch Engage. Eddie era capaz de hacerlo todo en la parte vocal, así que la impresión para All shall perish fue sorprendente. Por otra parte, Chris Storey tocaba en Suffokate, un grupo de Hardcore . All shall perish se interesaron en él porque sabían que era eficiente en su trabajo.
