Получил ранение в 1943, в госпитале на бумаге выполнил дипломную работу университета. Дважды лауреат премии Московского математического общества для молодых учёных. По теме «Теория функций 2-х переменных» была защищена докторская диссертация (1949). В начале 1950-х гг. возглавлял отдел в Институте теоретической и экспериментальной физики, связанного с атомным проектом. Вклад в развитие российского программирования, устройства вычислительных машин и вычислительной математики. Лауреат Сталинской премии.
