Alex Bueno is a Dominican singer and guitarist. He moved from his native San Jose de las Matas to Santo Domingo when he was a teenager, looking for a better chance to get involved in show business. In 1979, the young artist joined Gerardo Vera's All-Stars, later recording a local hit called Piel Canela with Fernando Villalona.

In 1982, Alex Bueno formed a tropical act called Orquesta Liberacion, singing along with Andres de Jesus and Ray Polanco; Polanco's singing voice could be mistaken for Alex Bueno for their similarity. After issuing 1993's Ternuras, the successful album Me Equivoque was recorded and produced in 1995 by Jaime Querol and Manuel Tejada. Bueno's singing career has been affected by his known addiction to drugs. NOt only his drugs addiction his career, but has completely destroyed his family. Following his two most successful releases, 1999's Corazon Duro and Bachata A Su Tiempo, Alex Bueno returned in 2001 with Unicamente Tu; the title was based on a popular song composed by Felipe Valdes.
