Alan Price is a British musician, first notable as the original keyboardist for the English band The Animals. He had UK chart success with the Animals, most notably "The House of the Rising Sun" to which Price also contributed the memorable keyboard parts. After leaving the Animals Price went onto to have solo success and introduced the songs of Randy Newman to a wider audience. Later he appeared on his own television show and made television guest appearances with Georgie Fame.

Ab dem Alter von acht Jahren bekam Price Musikunterricht für Klavier, Gitarre und Bass. Er spielte zunächst in einigen lokalen Bands, bis er 1957 in Newcastle die Alan Price Rhythm & Blues Combo gründete, welche 1964 auf Grund der Tatsache, dass die Fans die Bühnenshow als „tierisch“ bezeichneten, in The Animals („die Tiere“) umbenannt wurde. Danach wandte Alan Price sich dem Fernsehen zu. Er arbeitete an einer Reihe von Fernsehserien mit und lernte dabei Georgie Fame kennen.
