Aimaq is a dialect of the Persian language subgroup spoken west of the Hazarajat, in central northwest Afghanistan, eastern Iran, and Tajikistan. It is the dominant dialect of Persian spoken by the Aymāq people. It is very close to Khorasan Farsi and Dari. The Aimaq people are thought to have a 5-15% literacy rate. Subdialects of Aimaq include: Chinghizi Firozkohi Jamshidi Maliki Mizmast Taimani Taimuri Zainal Zohri
