Agdz lies at the feet of Djebel Kissane and along the shores of the Draa River. Agdz is located about 65 km south of Ouarzazate, 92 km north of Zagora. Agdz which means "resting place" is located on the old caravan route linking Marrakech to Timbuktu. Agdz long played an important economic role.

Dominée par le Djebel Kissane, on y accède depuis Ouarzazate par la route qui franchit le Djebel Tifernine au col de Tinifift (1 660 m). Le souk hebdomadaire se tient le jeudi.
