Afro-dite is a Swedish pop group made up of three pop singers. The group consists of Blossom Tainton-Lindquist, Gladys del Pilar and Kayo Shekoni. Blossom has already been in showbusiness for a long time. She sings and dances, played in several musicals and even hosted tv-shows on Swedish television. Gladys, born in Ecuador, came to Sweden when she was only 7 years old. She worked with Dr. Alban and Denniz Pop but her final breakthrough was when she appeared in ABBA - the true story.

Kayo is another multitalented woman. She is not only a singer, but also an actress, tv-show host and model. In the eighties she sang with the pop group Freestyle and in the ninetees she fronted the eurodance project Le Click. Afro-dite came together to sing the song "Never let it go" for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. The song was originally meant to be sung by Alcazar but they refused. In Eurovision, Afro-dite reached the 8th place. In 2007 they released a new album.

Un año más tarde lo volvieron a intentar en el Melodifestivalen 2003 con "Aqua playa" pero acabaron en el octavo puesto. Posteriormente cada miembro ha seguido en solitario: Gladys del Pilar participó en el Melodifestivalen 2004 con "Baby I Can't Stop" acabando última en la considerada semifinal más fácil de 2004. Este absoluto fracaso no le sentó nada bien y dijo que si alguna vez regresaba sería con sus compañeras de Afro-dite. Blossom Tayton sigue con sus videos de preparación física y presenta un programa sobre este tema y salud en general en la SVT. Kayo ha seguido vinculada al Melodifestivalen, presentando la última semifinal de 2005 junto a Michael Leijnegard y participando en 2006 con el tema "Innan natten är över" con el que tuvo más fortuna que Gladys, aunque no mucha más, fue 6º (a 103 llamadas de 5º y pasar a la segunda ronda) en la considerada mejor semifinal del año. Su ruptura no fue nada oficial ni definitivo y desde entonces se ha rumoreado continuamente sobre su regreso.
