Adanaspor promoted from First Group of Third League to Second League after a 0-0 draw at Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyespor (formerly and present name of Mezitlispor) away match in 2006-2007 season as 2nd. In 2007-2008 season, the team managed to capture the first position in Group 5 of Turkish 2nd League. The team finished first in Promotion Group after a 4-2 at Pendikspor home match and promoted to Bank Asya 1. League. Shortly 3 successively relegations followed by 2 successively promotions since 2003. They finished Bank Asya First League as 8th in 2008-2009 season.

- Adanaspor is een Turkse voetbalclub uit Adana. De club werd in 1954 opgericht en bereikte in 1966 de tweede klasse, vijf jaar later stootte de club door naar de hoogste klasse. Na enkele seizoenen werd de club vierde en mocht zo Europees voetbal spelen. Het seizoen daarna ontsnapte de club net aan degradatie maar kon dat in 1978 herstellen met een nieuwe vierde plaats. In 1981 werd de club zelfs vicekampioen, maar in 1984 degradeerde de club uiteindelijk toch. Na enkele seizoenen keerde de club in 1988 terug naar de Süper Lig en speelde daar twee seizoenen in de middenmoot, in 1991 werd de club laatste. Nu duurde het tot 1998 vooraleer de club terugkeerde. Na een negende plaats in 2000 leek het alsof de club weer goed aansluiting kon vinden maar het volgende seizoen degradeerde de club opnieuw. Dit keer kon Adanaspor de afwezigheid tot één seizoen beperkten en werd elfde op 18 clubs. In 2004 volgde een nieuwe degradatie. De club belandde in vrije val nadat financiële problemen de kop opstaken. Na een degradatie naar de derde klasse werd de club na één seizoen naar de vierde klasse verbannen en kon na één seizoen wel meteen terugpromoveren. In 2008 promoveerde de club weer naar de tweede klasse.
