  • Active Duty is an album by MC Hammer, released November 20, 2001. Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, MC Hammer released this eighth studio album on his own WorldHit Music Group label (the musical enterprise under his Hammertime Holdings Inc. umbrella) to pay homage to the ones lost in the terrorist attacks. The album followed that theme, and featured two singles, "No Stoppin' Us (USA)" and "Pop Yo Collar". The album, like its predecessor, failed to chart and would not sell as many copies as previous projects. Hammer did however promote it on such shows as The View and produced a video for both singles. This patriotic album, originally planned to be titled The Autobiography Of MC Hammer, donated portions of the proceeds to 9/11 charities. Hammer shot a video for the anthem "No Stoppin' Us (USA)" in Washington, D.C. , with several members of the United States Congress, who sang in the song and danced in the video. Present members of the United States House of Representatives included J.C. Watts, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Thomas M. Davis, Earl Hilliard, Alcee Hastings, Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif. ), Rep. Corinne Brown (D-Fla. ) and Jesse Jackson Jr.. Videos for singles "No Stoppin' Us" and "Pop Yo Collar" can be found on the Internet.
