- Arakaparampil Mathai Mathai [A. M. Mathai] is an Indian mathematician who has made remarkable contributions to the Statistics, Applied Analysis, Applications of special functions and Astrophysics. Mathai has done exceptional contribution to the establishment of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Palai, Kerala, India and also involved in holding United Nations / European Space Agency / National Aeronautics and Space Administration / Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency workshops in basic space science and the International Heliophysical Year 2007. He was an Assistant Professor of McGill University, Canada from 1964 to 1968 and from 1968 to 1978 he was the Associate Professor of McGill University. From 1979 to 2000 he was a Full Professor of the University. In 2000 he became the Emeritus Professor of McGill University. From 1985 he was the Director of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Pala, Kerala, India.
