96.3 Rock Radio is a classic rock independent local radio station serving Renfrewshire and Central Scotland. It replaced Q96, which was acquired by GMG Radio from The Wireless Group and UTV Radio. The station broadcasts classic rock tracks, which will appeal to a wide market but with a slight bias to 35 to 64 year old males. It plays rock music from all eras, from classic 1960s songs by The Beatles to new singles by current bands like Biffy Clyro.

  • 96.3 Rock Radio is a classic rock independent local radio station serving Renfrewshire and Central Scotland. Since leaving the county of Renfrewshire, the broadcasting regulator OFCOM required assurances that the station would continue to broadcast local news and content for the area from its new studios built just off the M8 at Baillieston. Rock Radio and sister station Real Radio are both broadcast from this location. In September 2009, 96.3 Rock Radio began to share some off-peak programming with 106.1 Rock Radio in Manchester, with live networked programming largely replacing voice-tracked local programming. The changes will see a locally-produced breakfast show and afternoon show remain; a night-time show will be produced at Glasgow and simulcast on Manchester. All other programmes (mid-morning, mid-evening, overnight) will come from Manchester.
