- El 51è Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlín va tenir lloc entre el 7 i el 18 de febrer de 2001. El festival va obrir amb el drama bèl·lic Enemy at the Gates de Jean-Jacques Annaud. El festival va tancar amb la versió restaurada en 70 mm de la pel·lícula de Stanley Kubrick de 1968 2001: A Space Odyssey. L'Os d'Or fou atorgat a la pel·lícula francobritànica dirigida per Patrice Chéreau. Al festival es va mostrar una retrospectiva dedicada al cineasta i guionista germanoaustríac Fritz Lang. (ca)
- The 51st annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from February 7 to 18, 2001. The festival opened with war-drama film Enemy at the Gates by Jean-Jacques Annaud. 70 mm restored version of Stanley Kubrick's 1968 Sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey was the closing film of the festival. The Golden Bear was awarded to French-British film Intimacy directed by Patrice Chéreau. The retrospective dedicated to German-Austrian filmmaker, screenwriter Fritz Lang was shown at the festival. L'Orso d'oro è stato assegnato al film Intimacy - Nell'intimità del regista francese Patrice Chéreau. L'Orso d'oro alla carriera è stato assegnato all'attore statunitense Kirk Douglas. Altri riconoscimenti onorari sono stati assegnati al cineasta tedesco e al regista giapponese Kei Kumai. Il festival è stato aperto dal film Il nemico alle porte di Jean-Jacques Annaud, proiettato fuori concorso. La retrospettiva di questa edizione è stata dedicata al cineasta tedesco Fritz Lang, con un programma che ha incluso circa 40 film, oltre a documentari, interviste e remake come Doctor M. di Claude Chabrol e M di Joseph Losey. - 51. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy w Berlinie odbył się w dniach 7-18 lutego 2001 roku. Imprezę otworzył pokaz brytyjskiego dramatu wojennego Wróg u bram w reżyserii Jean-Jacques'a Annauda. W konkursie głównym zaprezentowano 23 filmy pochodzące z 13 różnych krajów. Jury pod przewodnictwem amerykańskiego producenta Billa Mechanica przyznało nagrodę główną festiwalu, Złotego Niedźwiedzia, francuskiemu filmowi Intymność w reżyserii Patrice'a Chéreau. Drugą nagrodę w konkursie głównym, Srebrnego Niedźwiedzia − Grand Prix Jury, przyznano chińskiemu filmowi w reżyserii Wanga Xiaoshuai. Honorowego Złotego Niedźwiedzia za całokształt twórczości odebrał amerykański aktor Kirk Douglas. W ramach festiwalu odbyła się retrospektywa twórczości niemieckiego reżysera Fritza Langa. (pl)
