The Seahawks would go on to lose 27-20. The Rams, despite a mediocre 8-8 record, advanced to the Divisional Round the following week, only to lose to Michael Vick's Atlanta Falcons in a 47-17 blowout. Mid-season, the Seahawks acquired Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice to help with the team's struggling receiving corps, however, his role diminished. Following the season, Rice retired despite offers from the Denver Broncos. (en)
