- The twenty-first annual AC-Delco Winchester 400 motor race (yearly since 1970) was held under American Speed Association sanction on September 30, 1990, at the Winchester Speedway, Indiana (USA). In addition to clinching the 1990 ASA Championship, Bob Senneker added a record seventh "400" win to his resume. In domination fashion, Senneker held off a furious late challenge from Scott Hansen to claim his first "400" victory since 1984. Dave Jackson of Loveland, OH grabbed the early lead after starting from the pole. Jackson showed the way until being passed by Hansen on lap 28. Hansen paced the field until making a stop for tires on lap 99, handing the lead back to Jackson. The Ohio driver would lead only a few laps before yielding to Senneker on lap 109. Hansen took the lead from Senneker on lap 184, but Senneker was back in front at the halfway point. The last half of the race saw Hansen and Glenn Allen, Jr. make valiant charges. Hansen moving rapidly from fifth to second just past the 200-lap mark, and Allen charging from sixth to third in the final 56 laps. Despite leading every one of the last 200 laps, Senneker finished a mere 0.74 seconds ahead of Hansen at the checkers. Allen, Jr. finished third with Jackson and Canadian Junior Hanley rounding out the top-five. Senneker was awarded $12,265 for his seventh-career win in the 400.
