14 Bis is a Brazilian pop-rock band. The band took its name from Santos-Dumont's 14 Bis airplane. The band was formed in 1979 in the state of Minas Gerais, when the members of two bands, O Terço and "Bendegó" decided to merge. Flávio Venturini and Vermelho, two founding members of 14 Bis, were also members of the Clube da Esquina band. Música Popular Brasileira is a strong element in many of 14 Bis compositions.

  • 14 Bis é uma banda brasileira que surgiu em Minas Gerais no início dos anos 80, criada por Flávio Venturini (teclado e vocal), Cláudio Venturini (guitarra e vocal), Hely Rodrigues (bateria e vocal), Vermelho (teclado e vocal) e Sérgio Magrão (baixo e vocal). Sua música traz o casamento entre referências do rock, em especial de Beatles e do rock progressivo, e a escola mineira de música da época, conhecida como Clube da Esquina. Tiveram diversos sucessos, como Linda Juventude, Planeta Sonho, Natural, Uma Velha Canção Rock'n Roll e, mais recentemente, Mais uma Vez, em parceria com Renato Russo (letrista e vocalista da Legião Urbana). Seu trabalho de estréia (14 Bis-1979) foi produzido por Milton Nascimento, "padrinho" da banda. Apesar da saída de Flávio Venturini, o grupo continua em atividade até os dias atuais. Em julho de 2007 eles lançam o seu primeiro DVD, acompanhado de um CD. Neste há participações especiais de outros nomes da música mineira como Beto Guedes e Rogério Flausino, além do ex-membro Flávio Venturini.
