Tylko jeden producent dostarcza tego typu chipsety pod nazwą Turbo GEPON. Nie jest częścią standardu 802.3ah. 10GEPON Standard IEEE P802.3av - obecnie wersja draft, ma posiadać dwa tryby symetryczny 10Gbit/s oraz asymetryczny 10Gbit/1Gbit. Standard będzie częściowo kompatybilny z poprzednią wersją.
