Dezember 2019 in San Diego) war ein US-amerikanischer Ingenieurwissenschaftler, der in den USA als Pionier der Biomechanik gilt. Fung studierte an der Nanjing-Universität (Diplom 1943) und wurde 1948 bei am Caltech promoviert (Elastostatic and aeroelastic problems relating to thin wings of high speed airplanes), wobei er sich anfangs mit Flugzeugmechanik befasste. Er war Professor an der University of California, San Diego. Er war seit 1949 verheiratet und hatte zwei Kinder. (de) Yuan-Cheng Bert Fung (Jiangsu, 15 de setembro de 1919 – San Diego, 15 de dezembro de 2019) foi um dos fundadores da bioengenharia e o "Fundador da Moderna Biomecânica". Obteve o grau de bacharel em 1941 e mestrado em 1943 pela Universidade Nacional Central da China, e o grau de Ph.D. no Instituto de Tecnologia da Califórnia, em 1948. Foi professor da Universidade da Califórnia em San Diego. É autor de numerosos livros, dentre eles Foundations of Solid Mechanics, Continuum Mechanics, e vários livros sobre biomecânica.
