Smolník was a Ruthenian village in eastern Slovakia, within Snina District. The first mention of the village was in 1568. In 1980 the village was destroyed, along with six other villages, to make way for the Starina reservoir. Before its destruction, it had 72 houses and approximately 360 people. The village originally belonged to the noble families of Humenné, which was later given to some other noble families. There remains a cemetery of people killed during World War I and a bell tower. The territory is within Poloniny National Park.

Село було розташоване на північний схід від теперішнього водосховища в Буківських горах, в Руській улоговині (словац. Ruská kotlina) в долині річки Смольник біля кордону з Польщею. Рештки колишнього села знаходяться на території Національного парку Полонини. Кадастр села адмвністративно належить до кадастра села Стащин. La vilaĝo estis neniigita pro la konstruaĵo de Trinkakvujo Starina en 1980 kune kun aliaj ses vilaĝoj. Antaŭ detruado la vilaĝo havis 72 domojn kaj ĉirkaŭ 360 loĝantoj. De la estinta vilaĝo konserviĝis nur tombejo de Unua mondmilito kaj sonorilturo. Sur la loko de estinta preĝejo estis konstruita kapeleto. Unu jare okazas disservoj por estintaj samvilaĝanoj.
