- Die heraldische Rose, auch Wappenrose, ist in der Wappenkunde eine verbreitete gemeine Figur, die stilisiert der Blüte der fünfblättrigen Heckenrose nachempfunden wurde. Vorbild der heraldischen Rose, wie sie schon in den Wappenbildern des Uradels erscheint, ist die Wildrose oder Heckenrose mit fünf gleich großen Blütenblättern. Die Gründe für die heraldische Verwendung der Rose liegen in der Symbolik als „Blume“ der Liebe, der Lebensfreude, des Glücks. Der Ruf der Blüte als Symbol der Götter des Genusses (Bacchus) und der Liebe (Venus, Aphrodite) in der Antike ließ sie im spätantiken und frühmittelalterlichen Christentum als lasterhafte Blume der Erotik erscheinen. - Rosa è un termine utilizzato in araldica per indicare un fiore araldico convenzionale di cinque o più petali, attornianti un bottone, finemente ripiegati nel lembo superiore e framezzati dalle punte di foglioline. La rosa normale ha cinque petali. La rosa è simbolo di bellezza, onore puro, soavità di costumi, nobiltà e riconosciuto. I suoi colori usuali sono rosso, oro e argento. Molto raramente la rosa viene rappresentata al naturale e con il gambo.
