Richard Bethell, 1st Baron Westbury, PC (30 June 1800 – 20 July 1873) was a British lawyer, judge and Liberal politician. He served as Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain between 1861 and 1865. He was knighted in 1852 and raised to the peerage in 1861.

W 1852 r. został radcą generalnym Anglii i Walii. W latach 1856-1858 i 1859-1861 był prokuratorem generalnym. Po śmierci lorda Campbella w 1861 r. objął stanowisko lorda kanclerza. W 1865 podał się do dymisji. W czasie swojej kariery politycznej doprowadził do uchwalenia m.in. Divorce Act (1857) oraz Land Registry Act (1862). Westbury blev 1823 praktiserande advokat och var som sådan på 1840-talet oerhörd anlitad. År 1851 invaldes han i parlamentet, slöt sig där till det liberala partiet och innehade i flera liberala ministärer höga juridiska förtroendeposter. Åren 1856–1858 och 1859–1861 var han generaladvokat (attorney general) och blev sistnämnda år upphöjd till peer ssom baron Westbury samt utsedd till lordkansler. Från denna post avgick han 1865 till följd av beskyllningar för att i sin ämbetsutövning ha gynnat några släktingar. Han deltog dock till sin död i överhusets rättskipningsarbete.
