- Das pleomorphe Xanthoastrozytom (abgekürzt PXA, ICD-O Code: 9424/3) ist ein seltener glialer Hirntumor. Es wird nach der WHO-Klassifikation der Tumoren des zentralen Nervensystems als Grad II eingeteilt. Ganz überwiegend sind Kinder, Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene betroffen. Ein Zusammenhang mit einer erblichen Erkrankung ist in den allermeisten Fällen nicht erkennbar. In Einzelfällen wurde ein Auftreten von pleomorphen Xanthoastrozytomen bei Patienten mit Neurofibromatose Typ 1 beschrieben. (de)
- El xantoastrocitoma pleomórfico es un tipo de tumor de bajo grado (clasificación II-IV de la ) derivado de los astrocitos; los cuales se vuelven indiferenciados, pudiendo expresar tanto marcadores neuronales como gliales mediante técnicas inmunohistoquímicas. Al microscopio óptico se pueden observar células, de apariencia astrocítica, pero pleomórfica; con un componente de lipidización y atipia nuclear que pueden estar o no presentes, pero que son muy típicos. Mediante técnicas de inmunohistoquimia, la presencia de depósitos de reticulina es también un dato a favor del diagnóstico patológico. (es)
- Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a brain tumor that occurs most frequently in children and teenagers. At Boston Children's Hospital, the average age at diagnosis is 12 years. Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma usually develops within the supratentorial region (the area of the brain located above the tentorium cerebelli). It is generally located superficially (in the uppermost sections) in the cerebral hemispheres and involves the leptomeninges. It rarely arises from the spinal cord. (en)
- Lo xantoastrocitoma pleomorfo (PXA) è un tumore cerebrale raro, che si sviluppa prevalentemente negli emisferi cerebrali, più raramente a livello leptomeningeo.Si osserva più frequentemente nell'infanzia e nei giovani adulti e l'asportazione chirurgica è correlata con una prognosi favorevole. La presenza di una forma anaplastica è molto rara. Dal punto di vista istologico il tumore, che è GFAP-positivo, può sembrare abbastanza aggressivo: caratterizzato da marcato pleomorfismo cellulare, atipia nucleare, mitosi, necrosi e cellule giganti multinucleate. - Żółtakogwiaździak pleomorficzny (gwiaździak żółtakowy ksantomatyczny, ang. pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, PXA) – nowotwór złośliwy ośrodkowego układu nerwowego wywodzący się z tkanki glejowej (glejak), występujący głównie w młodym wieku i lokalizujący się przede wszystkim w półkulach mózgu, rzadziej w móżdżku. Według definicji WHO jest guzem o umiarkowanej złośliwości (II° według WHO) zbudowanym z różnokształtnych (pleomorficznych) komórek, wśród których spotyka się też komórki atypowe, w pewnym odsetku posiadające obfitą, ksantomatyczną cytoplazmę. Opisany przez Johna J. Kepesa i wsp. w 1973 jako "ksantomatyczny włókniak opon", traktowany był niegdyś jako nowotwór mezenchymalny (mięsak), ale wprowadzenie immunohistochemii do diagnostyki guzów nowotworowych i wykazanie immunoreaktywności G (pl)
