The Personal Internet Communicator (PIC) is a consumer device released by AMD in 2004 to allow people in emerging countries access to the internet. Originally part of AMD's 50x15 Initiative, the PIC has been deployed by Internet service providers (ISPs) in several developing countries. It is based on an AMD Geode CPU and uses Microsoft Windows CE and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

- Personal Internet Communicator (PIC) ist ein von der Firma AMD Ende Oktober 2004 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellter, lüfterloser PC, mit welchem AMD bis 2015 etwa 50 Prozent der Erdbevölkerung ausstatten wollte. Der PC besaß einen 366 MHz starken Geode-Prozessor mit 1,1 Watt Leistungsaufnahme, eine 10 GB Festplatte, VGA-Anschluss und 4 USB-Ports.Die schwache Ausstattung rührt daher, dass das Gerät auf eine sehr niedrige Leistungsaufnahme ausgelegt war, da die Zielgruppe in den ärmsten Regionen der Welt angesiedelt ist.Das System war in ein sehr kompaktes und leichtes (3 Pfund) Gehäuse integriert, das besonders auch auf Widerstandsfähigkeit ausgelegt ist. Porém face a sua estrutura "inalterável", com o passar do tempo, mostrou-se obsoleto, haja vista, que o equipamento é dotado de processador de 500mhz, 128 megabytes de memória RAM, 10 gigabytes no disco rígido, conexão somente por linha discada, e por fim, o sistema operacional Windows CE (que não pode ser trocado), limitaram a evolução do aparelho. Nem mesmo quando de seu lançamento ao final de 2005, o aparelho se mostrava interessante, pois os planos sugeridos para aquisição obrigavam a assinatura de planos de conexão, o que encarecia o preço final. Seu pequeno gabinete, mínima emissão de ruído (não tem as temidas ventoinhas para refrigeração) e o baixinho consumo de energia elétrica o tornam um ótimo aparelho para aplicações educativas, com o baixo custo existente.
