A line producer is a type of film or television producer who is the head of the production office management personnel during daily operations of a feature film, advertisement film, television film, or TV program. A line producer usually works on one film or episode of a TV program at a time. They are responsible for human resources and handling any problems that come up during production. Line producers also manage scheduling and the budget of a motion picture, as well as day-to-day physical aspects of the film production.

* Realització de l'obra amb les característiques tècniques acordades. Lliurament en els terminis aprovats. Sol ser present en el rodatge.
* Administració i gestió financera de la producció, comptabilitat... Productor executiu correspon al terme anglosaxó Line producer (denominació utilitzada sobretot en televisió). Al cinema, no s'ha de confondre'l amb el productor delegat (en anglès executive producer ). El productor executiu depèn del productor delegat i estableix la relació entre l'estudi i la pel·lícula. Té un paper de gestor, però no assumeix la responsabilitat. (La responsabilitat és naturalment deixada a l'empresari, el productor delegat). Al videojoc, la seva tasca consisteix a dirigir els diferents productors responsables de l'elaboració d'un videojoc. V případě klasického filmu jeho povinnosti končí po odevzdání promítacích kopií, předání všech podkladů do filmových laboratoří + obvykle dalších 20 pracovních dnů pro splnění všech povinností spojených s likvidací a vyúčtováním filmu.
