- Humani generis (s podtitulem O některých falešných názorech, které podkopávají základy katolické nauky) je encyklika papeže Pia XII. vydaná 12. srpna 1950. Jde o jednu z nejvýznamnějších a dodnes aktuálních encyklik tohoto papeže, která je hojně citována např. v dokumentech Druhého vatikánského koncilu, encyklikách papežů Pavla VI. a Jana Pavla II. a Katolickém katechismu. Encyklika se vyrovnává jednak s existencí evoluční teorie, , existenciálními filosofickými proudy a tzv. , jednak zdůrazňuje stěžejní roli Magisteria a papežského úřadu a obhajuje tomistickou filosofii. - Die Enzyklika Humani generis wurde von Papst Pius XII. am 12. August 1950 veröffentlicht. Sie gilt als letzte der vier bedeutenden theologischen Enzykliken seines Pontifikats, nach Mystici corporis über die Kirche, Divino afflante Spiritu über die Bibel (beide 1943) und Mediator Dei über die Liturgie (1947), die vom II. Vatikanum häufig zitiert werden. Pius XII pleit daarin voor het handhaven van de traditionele theologische taal en voor een interpretatie van de openbaringsbronnen onder toezicht van het kerkelijk leergezag. Tegelijkertijd waarschuwt hij voor een aantal tendensen in de 20e-eeuwse theologie, zoals voor het irenisme en de théologie nouvelle en bespreekt enkele filosofische thema's, onder andere de waarde van de scholastieke wijsbegeerte.
