- Fleur Adcock CNZM OBE (born 10 February 1934) is a New Zealand poet and editor, of English and Northern Irish ancestry, who has lived much of her life in England. She is well-represented in New Zealand poetry anthologies, was awarded an honorary doctorate of literature from Victoria University of Wellington, and was awarded an OBE in 1996 for her contribution to New Zealand literature. In 2008 she was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to literature. (en)

- Fleur Kareen Adcock è una poetessa neozelandese. Ha trascorso gli anni della seconda guerra mondiale in Inghilterra. Al suo ritorno si è laureata all'Università di Wellington nel 1955. Ha successivamente lavorato all'Università di Otago, Dunedin e in diverse biblioteche in Nuova Zelanda e successivamente a Londra, dove vive. Sebbene abbia scritto poesie sin dall'infanzia, la prima raccolta fu pubblicata soltanto nel 1964. Predilige i temi classici e l'analisi di relazioni personali e familiari, descritte con ironia e con una notevole capacità di introspezione psicologica. (it)

Urodzona w Papakura w Nowej Zelandii, jako dziecko przeniosła się z rodziną do Anglii, gdzie odebrała podstawowe wykształcenie. Studia w zakresie filologii klasycznej kontynuowała w nowozelandzkim Wellington. Następnie pracowała w bibliotece University of Otago. W 1963 roku ponownie wyjechała do Anglii, gdzie podjęła pracę bibliotekarki w londyńskim Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Oprócz krótkiego okresu spędzonego w Nowej Zelandii w latach 1975-1976, cały czas mieszka w Anglii. (pl)
