The Elisabethmarkt is a daily food market in Schwabing, a district of Munich, Germany. Deep in the heart of Schwabing, the inhabitants (and of course all the visitors) have been able to supply themselves with fresh groceries for more than 100 years. This market, which was named after the Austrian Empress Sisi, offers the entire range from meat and poultry, fruit and vegetables to delicatessen and snacks.

| - Der Elisabethmarkt (auch: Markt am Elisabethplatz) ist einer der vier ständigen Märkte für Lebensmittel und Blumen in München. Er findet auf dem Elisabethplatz im Stadtteil Schwabing statt. Nachdem 2011 ein TÜV-Gutachten an Ständen Mängel bei Hygiene- und Brandschutz festgestellt hatte, plant die Stadt München den Umbau des Marktes. Anfang 2020 stimmte der Bezirksausschuss den Umbauplänen einschließlich dem Bau einer Tiefgarage unter der Marktfläche zu. Aktuell wird der Markt komplett saniert und befindet sich während der Bauphase auf dem Ausweichstandort vor der Berufsschule auf der Arcisstraße bis Ecke Elisabethstraße. Im Sommer 2020 wurden die alten Häuschen abgerissen und nach dem Aushub der Garagengeschosse wieder am gleichen Standort neu aufgebaut. Vorgesehen sind neue Marktgebäude in Anlehnung an die alte kleinteilige Gebäudestruktur. Dachterrassen als Ruheoasen verleihen dem neuen Markt Charakter und ein barrierefreies Kunden-WC wird es künftig auch geben. Im geplanten Untergeschoss mit Tiefgarage sind die Lager- und Technikräume geplant. Es entstehen somit neue Freiräume für eine reizvolle und lebendige Marktfläche. (de)

Il mercato fu fondato nel 1903 ed era composto in origine da una grande costruzione adibita allo scopo. Questa costruzione fu distrutta nella seconda guerra mondiale. Oggi il mercato è costituito da bancarelle in pietra dalla forma simile a tante piccole casette. (it)
