The Battle of Écija (Arabic: معركة الدونونية) was a battle of the Spanish Reconquista that took place in September 1275. The battle pitted the Muslim troops of the Nasrid Emirate of Granada and its Moroccan allies against those of the Kingdom of Castile and resulted in a victory for the Emirate of Granada.

El reino nazarí de Granada se hallaba envuelto en una guerra civil y era devastado con frecuencia por los ejércitos castellanos. El rey granadino Muhammad II pidió ayuda a los benimerines para superar estas dificultades, y el sultán Abu Yúsuf Yaaqub ibn Abd al-Haqq pasó a la península ibérica e inició una expedición contra los reinos cristianos del norte; las tropas castellanas, mandadas por Nuño González de Lara el Bueno, intentaron cortarle el paso, pero fueron derrotadas en las cercanías de Écija. El emir de los benimerines ordenó cortar la cabeza de Nuño González de Lara, la cual fue enviada en señal de triunfo al rey Muhammad II de Granada, aliado de los benimerines. In de slag streden de moslimtroepen van het Nasriden-emiraat Granada en zijn Maghrebijnse bondgenoten tegen die van het koninkrijk Castilië en dit resulteerde in een overwinning voor het emiraat Granada. (nl) La bataille d'Écija oppose en septembre 1275 les troupes musulmanes de l'émirat nasride de Grenade et ses alliés mérinides venus du Maghreb, à celles du royaume de Castille. Elle fait partie des batailles de la Reconquista et précède celles d' (en) et de Moclín de 1280 qui laisseront du répit à l'émirat nasride de Grenade. (fr)
