The Aero A.23 was a Czechoslovakian airliner of the 1920s. Aero Vodochody had produced the first Czech airliner, the A.10, four of which had served with ČSA, the national airline. The A.23, another biplane, was bigger, more powerful and could carry more passengers.

Die tschechische Firma Aero ließ dabei erste positive Erfahrungen und Entwicklungen aus dem militärischen Flugzeugbau in die Konstruktion einfließen. Comme d'autres appareils de cette époque les passagers prenaient place dans une cabine fermée située dans l'entreplan, le pilote étant installé dans un poste ouvert situé en arrière de la cabine. Het voorgaande passagiersvliegtuig van Aero, de A-10, was grotendeels gelijk aan militaire vliegtuigen uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog. De A-23 is in 1925 ontworpen en was voor zijn tijd relatief modern. Toch zat de piloot nog steeds in een open cockpit boven de passagiers cabine. Zeven toestellen vlogen voor ČSA de L-BAAA tot en met L-BAAG. Ze vlogen op de lijnen Praag-Mariánské Lázně en Praag-Oezjhorod tussen 1926 en 1936. (nl)
