The 1945–46 Division 2 season was the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden for 1945–46. The league consisted of 41 teams, divided into seven geographical groups of five or six teams. The seven group winners—Brynäs IF (norra), (Dala), Forshaga IF (västra), Åkers IF (Sörmland), IFK Stockholm (östra), Västerås IK (Västmanland), and UoIF Matteuspojkarna (södra)—continued to a promotion qualifier, which resulted in Forshaga, Åker, Västerås, and Matteuspojkarna being promoted to Division 1 for the 1946–47 season.

Egentligen hade det formella beslutet att ge Dalarna en egen Division II-grupp inte tagits, men i slutet av säsongen fick segrarna i ändå vara med i kvalet till Division I. I kvalet tog Matteuspojkarna, Västerås IK och Åker platser till högsta serien. Det såg ut som Hofors skulle ta den fjärde platsen, men Forshaga lämnade och fick igenom en protest grundad på att Hofors bana varit för liten. Matchen spelades om på neutral plats i Borlänge och då vann Forshaga med 5–3. (sv)
