| - Jean Laplanche (21. července 1924 – 6. května 2012) byl francouzský psychoanalytik, jeden z nejvýznamnějších představitelů francouzského filozofického a psychoanalytického myšlení, který je však mimo francouzský kulturní okruh málo známý (A proto vznikla nadace pro podporu překladu jeho děl do angličtiny). Do mnoha jazyků byl přeložen pouze jeho Psychoanalytický slovník, který napsal s J.-B. Pontalisem. Laplanche představuje ve Francii tzv. třetí psychoanalytickou generaci (první reprezentovala Marie Bonapartová, druhou Jacques Lacan). (cs)

Laplanche ist insbesondere durch seine Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der psychosexuellen Entwicklung und über Freuds Verführungstheorie, die er 1987 verallgemeinert (Allgemeine Verführungstheorie), bekannt. Gemeinsam mit Jean-Bertrand Pontalis verfasste er 1967 das Standardwerk Das Vokabular der Psychoanalyse.Das Journal Radical Philosophy beschreibt ihn als „the most original and philosophically informed psychoanalytic theorist of his day“. Destaca por sus trabajos en el área del desarrollo psicosexual, así como por sus contribuciones a la teoría freudiana de la seducción, mas lo que lo transformó en un psicoanalista internacionalmente conocido fue principalmente la edición del Diccionario de Psicoanálisis, trabajo que realizó en conjunto con Jean-Bertrand Pontalis en 1967 y que se convirtió en una obra estándar, siendo uno de los diccionarios de psicoanálisis más traducidos y consultados.
