(it)

He was also a proponent of dual quaternions, which he termed "octonions" or "Clifford biquaternions". McAulay took up the position of Professor of Physics in Tasmania from 1896 until 1929, at which time his son Alexander Leicester McAulay took over the position for the next thirty years. (en)
Em 1883 publicou o artigo "Some general theorems in quaternion integration". No artigo "Establishment of the fundamental properties of quaternions" sugere melhorias nos textos então correntes. Também escreveu um artigo técnico sobre integração. (pt)
