La ubicuitat de la qu\u00EDmica en les ci\u00E8ncies naturals fa que sigui considerada com una de les ci\u00E8ncies b\u00E0siques. La qu\u00EDmica \u00E9s d'import\u00E0ncia en molts camps del coneixement, com la ci\u00E8ncia de materials, la biologia, la farm\u00E0cia, la medicina, la geologia, l'enginyeria i l'astronomia, entre altres.
